Marlborough

New Zealand has two main Islands the North Island and the South Island but many many more smaller islands as well. It sits in the southwestern pacific ocean and is often said to be one the safest countries in the world.  New Zealand has about 11 main wine growing regions. One of the smaller ones is an area called Aware Valley, Marlborough.  They are a boutique wine region and make absolutely outstanding Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.  I have not had the opportunity to visit this stunning country with its golden beaches, fjords and soaring mountains yet but just the thought of sipping a glass of Sauvignon Blanc on the beach overlooking the ocean is pretty tempting.
